1/18 Garden of Cosmic Speculation, Dumfries, Scotland
This bizarre garden looks as if it came from the pages of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, with its twisting scenery following nonsense logic. This spectacular but strange garden is the work and inspiration of landscape architect Charles Jencks. Instead of exotic flowers and plants, the mesmerizing landscape is filled with unusual shapes that create unique patterns like fractals, black holes and other optical illusions as well as fountains and aluminum flower beds.
Coming here sure feels as if you're stepping into an other-worldly land. It also seems to manage to be one of the few spots that requires a higher education just to be properly confused by it.
